America's First Mixed-Race President

Morgan FreemanMorgan Freeman tells us what we should already know.

Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman has finally spoken up and declared Barak Obama the first mixed-race president of America and not the first Black one as the media and others have tried to make us believe.

Morgan was trying to point out that those who oppose Obama because of his race would do well to remember that his white mother was actually from Kansas.

'First thing that always pops into my head regarding our president,' said Morgan 'is that all of the people who are setting up this [racial] barrier for him ... they just conveniently forget that Barack had a mama, and she was white -- very white American, Kansas, middle of America. There was no argument about who he is or what he is. America's first black president hasn't arisen yet. He's not America's first black president, he's America's first mixed-race president.'

Whilst President Obama is free to self identify as black if he so wishes the fact that he has a white mother makes him mixed-race to most people.

Most of the American public never seemed to have a problem with his mixedness yet the media were always keen to **** the one-drop-rule and claim their first black president. They could give themselves a pat on the back and declare racism a thing of the past.

Four years down the line it has become clear that racism isn't dead and America still has a long way to go before it can say it has truly overcome one of its most dangerous social diseases.

Some may criticise Morgan for the statement but he is only speaking the truth as he sees it and it needed a high profile person such as Morgan to stand up and speak it. Now we can set the history books straight and wait for the first black president. Any takers?
