She once had her sights set on being Prime Minister.
Bethnal Green & Bow's former Labour MP Oona King could be the next labour candidate for Mayor of London. The mixed-race political adviser to Prime Minister Gordon Brown at Downing Street already has a significant career behind her and is being suggested as the ideal candidate to take on Boris Johnson in 2012.
Of course Oona's name being put forward may have something to do with the fact that in 2012 the US may already have its first mixed-race president. We seem to follow the US in everything else so why not a mixed-race Mayor.
Oona did have her sights set on being Prime Minister as a child and though she once said she no longer wanted the job becoming Mayor of London could be a step in the right direction.
