Curry Tops With Welsh Toddlers Spicy ethnic food a favourite For Children. The survey, conducted by Asquith Nurseries, shows that children aren't as conservative in their food choices as parents might think. 'We condition our children to like stereotyped children's food but left to their own devices children like things like curries,' said cook Annabel Karmel, who is working with Asquith to develop new menus for children. The research concluded that toddlers today have a greater awareness of the range of food they can choose from. 'Children are now realising that there are other foods than chips,' said Nia Williams, a dietician working at Michaelton College in Ely. 'There's a lot more different foods available and children are more aware through advertising. Also, children are growing up in mixed-race communities, so they are influenced by their peers and what's available.' Of course there is no research as to the type of curry the children like, it is unlikely to be very hot and is more probably the strength of a korma. Still it would appear to be more tasty and healthier than chicken nuggets. Source:IC Wales
