Performance Poet: Asher Hoyles

Asher Hoyles is a performance poet. She writes in a variety of styles and feels her poetry can be fitted into a number of cross-curricular themes; subjects include English, Social Studies, History, PSE, Drama, and Careers.

Her poems, some of which have appeared on London buses, are also relevant to policies on equal opportunities, racism, sexism, bullying, and multiculturalism. She has performed at Glastonbury Festival and the ICA, as well as in schools and colleges, libraries, prisons and community centres.

Asher works as an additional support tutor at New Vic Sixth Form College in Newham, east London.

Asher has also co wrote Remember Me Achievements Of Mixed-Race People Past & Present with her husband Martin Hoyles and Moving Voices a Selection of Black Performance Poetry.
